FORCE REPAIR Represented at the IV ISCIII Platforms Conference

The IV ISCIII Platforms Conference, held from 28 to 30 October in Vitoria-Gasteiz, brought together experts from across the biomedical research and innovation community to exchange knowledge, discuss emerging technologies and explore opportunities for translating research into clinical practice. Helena Herrada from IDONIAL, FORCE REPAIR project partner, attended the IV ISCIII Platforms Conference, describing the event as an enriching experience from both a scientific and professional perspective. The conference programme covered a broad range of topics relevant to the future of biomedical research and innovation. Particularly interesting were the sessions exploring emerging technologies and approaches, including artificial intelligence in biomedicine, 3D printing, organoid models and biobanks. Discussions also addressed technology transfer and the translation of research results into clinical applications, highlighting the importance of collaboration across disciplines and institutions in advancing innovation.

These topics are closely connected to the objectives of FORCE REPAIR, which is developing an innovative multifunctional wound dressing by combining advanced biomaterials and 3D printing technologies. The conference provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on developments in biomedical research and explore how emerging technologies can contribute to new solutions in healthcare.

One of the highlights of the event was the keynote lecture by Sara GarcĂa Alonso, astronaut of the European Space Agency (ESA) reserve corps and researcher at the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO). Her inspiring contribution offered a unique perspective on scientific research, innovation and the challenges of exploring new frontiers.

Participation in events such as the IV ISCIII Platforms Conference allows FORCE REPAIR partners to stay connected with the latest developments in biomedical research, exchange expertise and strengthen links between research, technology development and clinical practice.
