FORCE REPAIR is a collaboration among 14 partners from 8 EU countries, who will not only develop a new smart and multifunctional biomaterial for chronic wound treatment, but also consider the manufacturing process within the regulatory framework. The consortium was carefully selected to bring together advanced therapies and technologies, as well as knowledge in biological, cellular and immunology mechanisms, biomaterials design, 3D additive manufacturing, digitalization, regulation and business.

The spatial distribution planned in FORCE REPAIR is made possible by the engineering knowledge in 3D bioprinting and digitalization. Experts on bio adhesion, infection/immunological response, vascularization, and wound healing will perform biological evaluation. The product will be validated according to regulatory frameworks and tested on chronic wound animal models. Health technological assessment and marketability studies will also be carried out to prepare for product development beyond the end of the project.
